MORE CREATIVITY, LESS ENERGY

LED LIGHTS ALL THE WAY
If you’re all about wanting those beautiful string lights, lighting up your home; we get it! How about switching to LED lights instead? Did you know that LEDS use 75% less energy but far surpass any regular incandescent bulbs by 25 times more (energy.gov)? Ensure you are always selecting Energy Star rated strings, use outdoor ones outdoors and indoor ones indoors respectively as well! Since you’re already on a roll, why not replace all the bulbs in your lamps and light fixtures to LED bulbs simultaneously?
BE SURE TO USE TIMERS
As beautiful as string lights are, there’s no need to have them on 24 hours a day! We highly recommend to only having them on during the dark hours of the day. As your days can get busy, especially over the course of the holidays, relying on remembering to turn them on and off isn’t the best strategy. Timers can be inexpensive and are equipped with a built-in photocell that turns lights on at dusk and off at bedtime. When procuring one, just make sure that the timer you choose is rated to handle the total wattage of your lights.
CANDLES
Wanting to mix things up and not have the lights on every evening? How about relax with the warm glow of candles? But remember safety first and recommend using a safe, battery-operated kind or place real candles inside glass votives, keeping them out of reach of children, children, and pets. Maybe put a timer on your phone to remind you to extinguish them.
We hope these holiday energy saving tips come in handy and save you some means all while enjoying the festive time of year!
